Pam was married to John and was mother to Krista, Lucy and Simon and grandmother to Laura, Peter, Rebecca and Alex. Great grandmother to Freddie and Matilda.
Pam loved to play bridge and was encouraged to learn by her mother (Joan Smith) who was also a formidable player on the Welsh bridge circuit (representing Wales in the Lady Milne several times during the 60s and 70s). Pam went to bridge lessons at Deva bridge club (Eric Dutton) and played at Shotton, Flint, Wrexham and Mold clubs, as well as teaching the game for many years at Cheshire adult education and around North Wales.
Amongst her bridge achievements, Pam represented Wales in the international Lady Milne event in 1986 and 1987 with Margaret Pitts and in 1994, 1996 and 1997 with her daughter Krista. Nationally, she won the Cambria cup in 2003 and the Ladies Welsh Cup in 1983 as well as the team of eight in 1991 and 1994 representing Shotton and the Mixed Pairs in 1994 and 1997 with her son Simon. She represented the NWBA in the Spickett on numerous occasions winning most recently in 2000, 2001 and 2004 in partnership with Krista.
Pam was a kind and generous person with a keen sense of humour and a forgiving nature (an essential feature at the bridge table). Those who knew her and those who had the privilege to play bridge with her will miss her.
